The Queensland Art Gallery is a single institution with two sites: the celebrated Robin Gibson-designed Gallery which opened in 1982, and the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), designed by Architectus, at Kurilpa Point — the last reach of the Brisbane River which overlooks the city.
Separated by a distance of only 150 metres door-to-door, the Queensland Art Gallery and GoMA enjoy a close visual and physical connection. GoMA and the Queensland Art Gallery complement each other yet remain distinctive within their architectural genres.
