Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem 2003 Ages 15+ Interstella 5555 is a retro anime space opera that follows the fate of a band abducted by a wicked businessman and transported to another planet. The businessman renders them zombie-like in order to make-over the musicians as a commercial supergroup called 'The Cresendolls'. Written by Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) to accompany their 2001 Discovery album, the script was given to their childhood hero Leiji Matsumoto who supervised the animation. Electroma 2006 G Directed by Daft Punk duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Electroma is a haunting visual journey, with no dialogue and subtle narrative. Daft Punk’s robot alter-egos meditate on the human condition, exploring modes of alienation and cultural disconnection. Drawing similarities to cinematic works such as Gus Van Sant's Gerry and Michelangelo Antonioni's Zabriske Point, the cinematography by Bangalter accentuates the isolation of humans within the landscape.
