More than 142 000 people visited the award-winning 'Story Place: Indigenous Art of Cape York and the Rainforest' exhibition at the Gallery in 2003. Contemporary works from the exhibition are now touring to seven regional Queensland venues in 2004 and 2005. The exhibition includes ceremonial sculptures, weaving, shields and paintings by Indigenous artists from the Peninsula's three cultural regions (west Cape, east Cape and the rainforest).
