27 March – 27 June | Gallery 4, QAG
Children and adults are invited to discover the art of designing hats in an interactive section of the exhibition. There are hundreds of different types of hats, from the practical, everyday sun hat and the bike helmet we wear to ride bikes and scooters, to spectacular hats trimmed with feathers, velvet and lace for special occasions.
Visitors will be able to create their own feathery fascinator, pillbox, turban, or Easter bonnet using crêpe paper and stencils inspired by the hats on display, including the fantastical creations of milliner extraordinaire, Stephen Jones.
