DJ | Bang Gang Deejays (Doom and Hoodrat)
Jaime Doom and Gus Da Hoodrat are Sydney DJ duo Bang Gang Deejays. Influenced by the styles of electro-house, minimal techno, 1980s new wave and 1970s disco, Bang Gang has initiated a sound that has come to be known in the music field as the ‘dimensioneer dance’.
In 2005, Doom and Hoodrat created Bang Gang 12 Inches, a launching platform designed to profile Australian artists at the forefront of the dance music scene, which has launched the careers of current household names including Kim (The Presets), Muscles and Nicky Van She. As well as entertaining crowds all over Australia, Bang Gang have toured the world, playing in Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin and New York.
With a self confessed dislike of club conventions, Jaime Doom sums up Bang Gang Deejays as ‘fast, hectic, messy . . . fun’. www.banggang.com.au
