'Scary Monsters'

Scary-Monsters

Scary Monsters' featured three chambers that explored the themes 'creepy creatures', 'nightmares' and 'demons, devils and dark places'.

Scary Monsters

28 November 1998 - 7 February 1999
Gallery 15, Queensland Art Gallery

Unlike traditional exhibitions, 'Scary Monsters' was designed and installed like a carnival ghost-train ride complete with scary sound effects. It featured paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, carvings, a preserved (dead) toad, and a painting suspended by a spider's web.

Divided into three chambers, the exhibition explored the themes 'creepy creatures', 'nightmares' and 'demons, devils and dark places'. Children were encouraged to wander through the spine tingling dark chambers and explore the spooky displays.
