Supporting the Queensland Art Gallery through a bequest is one of the most meaningful legacies you can provide. A bequest will enrich the cultural life of Queensland for generations to come. Many important works in the Gallery's Collection have been purchased with bequest funds or bequeathed to the Gallery by generous supporters.
Bequests made to the Queensland Art Gallery, a Deductible Gift Recipient, are managed through the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation.
Bequests of art works, funds or property to the Queensland Art Gallery can be directed specifically to:
To include the Queensland Art Gallery in your will, the following wording may be used:
'I bequeath . . . [insert details of cash contribution, description of items, or portion of residuary estate], through the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation to the Queensland Art Gallery Board of Trustees.'
Your solicitor or financial adviser can provide further assistance in making arrangements for bequests to the Gallery in your will.
Making a bequest to the Gallery of as little as $2000 entitles the donor to immediate membership of the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation. By notifying the Foundation of your bequest, you are able to enjoy a fulfilling association with one of Australia's leading art galleries as well as leaving an inspirational legacy for the future.
Works of art gifted to the Gallery through a bequest must further the vision for the Collection as outlined in the Gallery's Acquisitions Policy.
Please contact the Foundation's Development Officer for further information on the Gallery and the Foundation to assist you to determine the nature of your bequest.
